The fun part of owning a house is renovating and decorating it. The not so fun part is, the research and comparison of renovation companies, having a moodboard of the items you wish to beautify your house based on the different rooms and its purpose.
Make sure you do all these without losing sight of your financial cashflow.
A word of advice that me and Mr Far got from our parents are to ensure that we have the basic items/tools at home for a start.
Here’s how me and Mr Far planned on renovating and decorating our home.
3 months before getting our house keys:
1) Set a budget for your house renovation, furnitures, electrical items and home Wifi. Also have a timeline of when you wish to purchase each components mentioned above.
2) Decide on whether you are paying full cash on everything or use credit facilities eg. Bank Loan or Credit Card.
3) Have a moodboard using Powerpoint or any other design home kind of tools to envision your future home of what are the items you wish to include.
Since our house renovation happened at the end of 2020 and there was shortage of manpower, it took our renovation approximately 2.5months to complete.
Ultimately, building and decorating your own home to what you envision takes time. Enjoy the process while you still can. Have a great weekend everyone!
